Harry Kane Hints at Openness to Bayern Munich Extension, Remains Noncommittal on Premier League future
LONDON – Harry Kane has indicated he is open to extending his stay at Bayern Munich, while remaining circumspect about a potential return to the Premier League. Speaking ahead of England’s upcoming international fixtures, the forward emphasized the importance of small adjustments to maintain peak performance, and addressed the recent squad decisions made by England manager Thomas Tuchel.
Kane is currently preparing for England’s friendly against Wales on Thursday and a World Cup qualifier against Latvia next Tuesday. he acknowledged Tuchel’s decision to omit Jude Bellingham and Phil Foden from the squad, explaining the manager’s rationale focused on rewarding players performing well in training and during the recent match against Serbia.
“There are a lot of players who are different from past tournament squads,” Kane said. ”But I think the boss has made it pretty clear that those players,it’s not like they’re out of the squad for sure. A lot of them are maybe just coming back into form. Some of them, Jude especially, he’s not been fit, and just played one or two games. It is indeed a big change, but that’s not my decision. That’s the boss – he will feel the feeling amongst the players.”
Kane stressed the need for England to replicate the standards established in their 5-0 victory over serbia.”The energy around the place was in a really good place,” he said. “Probably the best camp since Gareth [Southgate] left I would say was the September camp but now that is the standard.”
Regarding his own fitness and diet, Kane noted, ”I do eat clean anyway. It’s just whether the cheat meals after games are not so much, or when you’re out with the family not having as much ice cream. Small details, but at the highest level those make a big difference.”
England’s squad has seen recent changes with the addition of Manchester City’s Nico O’Reilly following Reece James’ withdrawal due to a minor injury. Declan Rice reported for duty after experiencing a back injury during Arsenal’s recent match.
