Hans-Jörg Rudloff, a former Novartis vice president and key figure in the development of the international Eurobond market, has died at the age of 85. His death was announced in an obituary published December 1st by the Neue Zürcher Zeitung (NZZ).
Rudloff’s career spanned decades at the forefront of international finance, leaving a significant imprint on both Credit Suisse First Boston and Barclays, where he later served as chairman. Beyond his roles in major banking institutions, he was a co-founder in 2003 of Zurich-based self-reliant wealth management group Marcuard Heritage, and held a long-standing position on the board of directors at TBG AG.
Considered an architect of the Eurobond market, Rudloff brought foresight and integrity to his work, according to TBG AG, who honored him as a valued advisor and friend in their NZZ tribute. The company noted his more than three decades of commitment shaped their development. His passing marks the loss of a prominent figure in Swiss and international finance.
