Gypsy Rose Blanchard Admitted She Hoped Ken Urker Would Overdose in Leaked Prison Calls

Gypsy Rose Blanchard Admitted She Hoped Ken Urker Would Overdose in Leaked Prison Calls

October 15, 2026 Julia Evans – Entertainment Editor Entertainment

Newly leaked audio from 2020 and 2021 prison phone calls reveals Gypsy Rose Blanchard told her then-boyfriend Ryan Anderson that she once stated she hoped Ken Urker would overdose. The recordings were published by the Daily Mail, emerging as Blanchard mounts a public push against cyberbullying following Urker’s death at age 34.

Prison Phone Calls Surface Amid Online Scrutiny

The audio was recorded while Blanchard was incarcerated at the Chillicothe Correctional Center in Missouri. In a December 2020 call, Blanchard discussed sending Tate McRae’s song “You Broke Me First” to Urker during a period when the two had split and she was rekindling her relationship with Anderson. In a subsequent March 2021 call, Blanchard directly stated she told Urker, “I hope he overdoses,” while adding that she refused to let another man ignore her.

Daily Mail added that Blanchard admitted in separate 2025 audio to stabbing Urker’s headboard with a knife during a drunken, jealous rage and sending him abusive text messages. The fresh disclosures contrast with Blanchard’s recent social media advocacy. Following Urker’s death, she shared an evidence log of harmful messages he received online, petitioning the public to end years of targeted harassment, ridicule, and allegations directed at him.

Contrasting Accounts of Urker’s Final Weeks and Family Tensions

Urker was found dead inside his home in Raceland, Louisiana, on October 1, which marked his 34th birthday. The Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office stated there was no evidence of foul play, while the investigation remains ongoing.

In the weeks preceding his death, Blanchard recalled a lighthearted interaction with Urker on September 22, when she pretended to be a DoorDash driver to surprise him with a Burger King delivery. Page Six noted that she shared screenshots of the playful text exchange, calling it one of her final precious memories of him.

At the same time, public friction emerged between Blanchard and Urker’s family. Hindustan Times reported that Blanchard released an October 13 Instagram video accusing Urker’s sister, Autumn Snyder, of capitalizing on his death and giving them trouble over the preceding six months. Blanchard alleged that Snyder was never close with Urker and criticized her for speaking to media outlets and going live on TikTok on the evening of his passing. Snyder had confirmed his death on her livestream, stating his final words to her were “I love you,” according to Hindustan Times.

Unresolved Questions Surrounding the Investigation

Law enforcement officials have not yet finalized the official cause of death for Urker, pending the conclusion of the ongoing investigation by the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office. While Blanchard previously told People she believed Urker died of an overdose, authorities have not confirmed whether the overdose was intentional or accidental, leaving the exact circumstances of his death open as family members and former partners address the public fallout.
