Dm Boosts Total Revenue to 19.197 Billion Euros

October 15, 2026 Julia Evans – Entertainment Editor Entertainment

European drug store operator dm increased its total revenue to 19.197 billion euros in the 2024/25 financial year, up from 17.749 billion euros. The Karlsruhe-headquartered company recorded an 8.2 percent growth rate across its European operations, backed by expansion that brought total headcount to 93,426 employees by the close of the reporting period on September 30, 2025.

Domestic Market Expansion and Workforce Growth

Revenue in the German home market rose by 6.5 percent to reach 13.279 billion euros during the 2024/25 period, compared with 12.470 billion euros in the preceding financial year. Workforce figures expanded alongside commercial growth. Total personnel numbers across Europe climbed from 89,197 to 93,426 workers. In Germany alone, the company employed 63,648 people, which included 4,418 individuals in apprenticeship training positions. This financial expansion follows a broader two-year upward trajectory. In the 2022/23 financial year, corporate figures placed group revenue at 15.90 billion euros, leaving a revenue difference of 3.29 billion euros over the subsequent two-year span, during which domestic staffing levels grew by 12,289 positions.

Drug Store Growth Pressures Traditional Grocers

The performance reflects wider shifts in the German retail sector. Citing data published by market researchers Nielsen IQ in July 2025, the trade publication lebensmittelpraxis.de reported that drug store chains achieved the strongest sales growth among all stationary food retailers at 6.6 percent, intensifying competition for traditional grocers. Leadership of the retail chain rests with Christoph Werner, born in 1972 and managing board chairman, who is the second oldest of seven children of company founder Götz W. Werner. Reports from the Stuttgarter Zeitung in October 2025 placed the combined assets of the founding Werner and Lehmann families at approximately 7.8 billion euros.
