Arsenal striker Viktor Gyokeres and model Inés Aguiar appear to have rekindled their relationship, just months after their split reportedly facilitated his high-profile transfer to the Premier League club. Recent social media activity from Aguiar, including posts from inside the Field Mill stadium during an FA Cup match, coupled with interactions from Gyokeres, has fueled speculation of a reconciliation.

The pair’s initial separation occurred prior to Gyokeres’ £64 million move from Sporting CP to Arsenal last summer. Reports in Portugal indicated that Gyokeres ended the year-long relationship because he didn’t want any personal ties to Portugal hindering his pursuit of the transfer, according to Portuguese magazine TV Guia. A source close to the footballer reportedly stated that Gyokeres “did not want anything to tie him to Portugal,” and explained his feelings to Aguiar before their breakup.

The split even became part of the Arsenal fan culture, with supporters incorporating the alleged dumping into a chant sung during matches: “He dumped his girlfriend, to play in red and white,” referencing Gyokeres’ commitment to securing his move to London. Gyokeres himself was later asked about the chant, though his response was not reported.

Aguiar’s recent Instagram posts, featuring photos from Field Mill, have sparked renewed interest in the couple’s status. She has over 200,000 followers on the platform and regularly shares updates on her life and career. Gyokeres has been seen interacting with her posts, further suggesting a possible reconciliation.

The timing of the potential reunion comes as Gyokeres has established himself as a key player for Arsenal, scoring nine goals and providing two assists in eighteen games since January 2026.

Aguiar is as well pursuing her career, having previously worked as an actress in Portuguese television and film, appearing in productions such as Bem Me Quer (2020), Leviano (2018), and Chuva de Verao (2024). She did not attend the wedding of a teammate of Gyokeres at Sporting Lisbon, which initially fueled speculation of the split.
