Gyeonggi-do‍ residents are urged to take⁤ preventative measures against ⁢tick-borne infectious diseases, as one in five people are‍ susceptible to contracting illnesses from these parasites. Health officials warn that ⁤ticks are increasingly ‌prevalent not ‍only in traditional outdoor environments like forests and fields, but also in easily accessible areas such as gardens, parks, and‍ walking​ trails.

Ticks thrive in spaces close to home, necessitating vigilance even ‍in seemingly safe areas. ⁣Following outdoor excursions, residents⁢ are ‌advised to immediately wash their clothing and shower to‍ remove any potential ⁣ticks. individuals experiencing symptoms⁤ suggestive of infection for more than two weeks should promptly seek medical attention and‍ inform their healthcare provider of their recent outdoor activities. ⁣
