Guárico, Venezuela – A thorough medical outreach event brought essential health services to the rural community of Caro Herrado in the Guárico state, aiming to ensure continued well-being for its residents. The initiative, part of the Great Mission Equality and Social Justice “Hugo Chávez,” was facilitated by multidisciplinary teams from the Comunitaria Integral Health areas (ASIC) “Simón Bolívar” and “Dr.Luis Razetti.”
jesús Rojas, the sole health authority for the region, collaborated with Governor Donald Donaire to coordinate the event. “We are conducting a day of love, for the love of Guárico,” Rojas stated.
More than 352 individuals, encompassing all age groups, received medical attention. Services offered included pediatrics, general and internal medicine, nutrition, ophthalmology, gynecology, immunizations, ultrasounds, arterial hypertension screening, and deworming.
The National Institute of Nutrition (INN) played a notable role, providing weight and height measurements for anthropometric assessments, crucial for evaluating the nutritional status of attendees.
This outreach aligns with the fourth objective of the great Mission Equality and Social Justice,”living healthy,” established by President Nicolás Maduro. Medical, nursing, and social promotion personnel from the National Public Health System traveled to this remote community to deliver healthcare and promote the well-being of its inhabitants.
Dr. Yosmary Tovar,a member of the medical team, noted that “our older adults, pregnant women, people with disabilities, boys and girls,in addition to medical care, also received the medications they required and vitamin supplements that are very critically important.”
Tovar further emphasized that the Great Mission Equality and Social Justice is designed for everyone, specifically addressing disparities and extreme needs stemming from sanctions impacting Venezuelan society and its economy.
