‘Gremlins 3′ Officially Confirmed by Warner Bros. Finding wiht 2027 Release Date
BURBANK, CA – After decades of speculation, Warner Bros. Discovery has greenlit Gremlins 3, slated to arrive in theaters on November 19, 2027. The announcement marks the official return of the mischievous creatures to the big screen for the first time since 1990’s Gremlins 2: The New Batch.
The original Gremlins,released in 1984,quickly became a cultural phenomenon,blending horror and comedy and launching a franchise that extended beyond the initial film and its sequel. The creatures,especially the kind-hearted Gizmo,have maintained a presence in pop culture through animated series,video games,and advertising campaigns.
Gremlins 3 will see the return of Steven Spielberg as executive producer, reprising his role from the previous installments. Chris Columbus, known for his work on the Harry Potter films, will direct. notably absent from the project, at least initially, is Joe Dante, who directed both Gremlins and Gremlins 2.
The franchise recently saw a revival with the animated series Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai, which aired on HBO Max from 2023 for two seasons. The future of the series remains unconfirmed, but a potential relaunch could align with the film’s release. Gizmo has also appeared in advertisements,including a campaign with Mountain Dew and actor Zach Galligan,and featured in video games like “Gremlins: Stripe Vs. Gizmo” and “Gremlins Unleashed.”
