Green Day Announces new Film ‘New Years Rev’ With Release of First Trailer
Green Day has unveiled the first trailer for ”New Years Rev,” a comedy centered around a fictional garage bandS cross-country quest to open for the iconic punk rock group. the film, co-produced by green Day and Live Nation Productions, premieres September 12 at the Toronto International film Festival.
The movie, dubbed “A Green Day Story,” follows the Analog Dogs, a trio resolute to meet and perform alongside their idols. Their hopes are initially raised by seemingly landing a New Year’s Eve opening slot for Green Day, only to discover it was a prank.Undeterred, they embark on a chaotic road trip from Kansas to California. The 55-second trailer, set to Green Day’s 2004 hit “Holiday,” showcases the band’s energetic performances alongside scenes of the teens’ misadventures.
“New Years Rev” features a cast including Mason Thames, Mckenna Grace, Fred Armisen, Jenna Fischer, Angela Kinsey, and Bobby Lee. Green Day has described the film as a tribute to “road trip movies, ’90s nostalgia, and chasing the dream no matter how ridiculous it gets,” with the soundtrack featuring over a dozen of their songs.
