Gran Turismo 7 Spec IV Update: New Cars, Sportsland SUGO Track, and New Features

October 4, 2026 Rachel Kim – Technology Editor Technology

Polyphony Digital will release update 1.72 for Gran Turismo 7 on October 15, 2026, launching the first phase of the major Spec IV content package with six new vehicles and a Japanese racing circuit, according to reports by Konsolowe.info and Gamegpu. Totaling 12 new vehicles and two tracks across two stages, the Spec IV package follows a 2022 release that faced initial struggles and low ratings before turning the trend around.

While Gamegpu and Konsolowe.info point to an October 15 rollout, Interia Gry reports that the update arrives slightly earlier on October 14. The free update applies to both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 versions, with Gamegpu confirming compatibility for PlayStation VR2 users.

Sportsland SUGO Makes Series Debut

The primary addition to the track roster is Sportsland SUGO, located in Murata, Japan, as reported by Interia Gry. Konsolowe.info notes that this marks the circuit’s first appearance in the Gran Turismo series.

Known for its demanding layout and significant elevation changes, the track was previewed during the third round of the Gran Turismo World Series 2026 in Singapore, according to Gran-Turismo.com. All new vehicles and track configurations will be accessible in single-player campaign rankings, custom online lobbies, and Sport mode ranked races, Gamegpu reports.

Six New Vehicles Join the Roster

The update brings a diverse lineup spanning decades of automotive history, blending classic combustion models with modern electric concepts. According to Konsolowe.info and Interia Gry, the vehicle roster comprises:

Introducing the "Gran Turismo 7" Spec IV Update Part 1 – October 2026
  • Ferrari F355 Berlinetta (1994): Highlighted by Konsolowe.info as a classic V8 coupe making its long-awaited addition to the game. Konsolowe.info adds that the model features a 3.5-liter V8 engine and a closed-roof Berlinetta body style.
  • Citroën 2CV 6 Charleston (1986): Noted by Interia Gry as a French cinematic classic.
  • Honda Civic Si Group A Version (1987)
  • Honda STEP WGN Spada Premium Line (2023): Noted by Konsolowe.info as a modern car straight from Japan.
  • Mazda RX-Vision GT3 Evo (2026): Noted by Konsolowe.info as a modern car straight from Japan.
  • Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo (2026)

Gran-Turismo.com details that the Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo is an electric hypercar concept featuring a teardrop cabin, active aerodynamic channels, and an interior design philosophy termed "Sofa Racer." The project was first announced in June 2025 and displayed at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in March 2026.

Update 1.72 Adds Car Concierge and Garage Features

Beyond vehicles and tracks, update 1.72 introduces several quality-of-life additions. Konsolowe.info and Gamegpu report the debut of Car Concierge, a dedicated service allowing players to order hard-to-find vehicles from the Used Car and Legend Cars catalogs. Konsolowe.info also details the addition of a Vintage section containing vehicles no longer available in standard sales.

Spec IV Phase Two Scheduled for December

The Spec IV update is split into two distinct releases. Following the October deployment, Polyphony Digital has scheduled the second wave of content for December 2026, as outlined by Konsolowe.info.

The December update will reintroduce the classic Autumn Ring circuit, add six additional vehicles, and introduce Family Mode, Shuffle Races, Online Drift Trials, and an updated iteration of the GT Sophy system.
