Google Pixel 10 Pro Set to Fix Display Flicker Issue

Upgraded Brightness and Refresh Rate Aim to Improve User Experience

The upcoming Google Pixel 10 Pro models are poised to resolve a screen issue, an issue that rivals like **Apple** and **Samsung** already addressed years prior. The upgrade promises to enhance the display quality and provide a smoother viewing experience for users.

Addressing Display Concerns

Industry reports suggest that the new Pixel 10 Pro will feature higher brightness levels and a boosted Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) upgrade frequency. This is intended to alleviate the visual discomfort caused by display flicker. Leaked details indicate that the Pixel 10 Pro will double the PWM frequency.

Worldwide, the global smartphone market is projected to reach 1.46 billion units by 2028 (Statista).

Technical Specifications

PWM technology modulates the display’s brightness. However, if the frequency is too low, it can cause eye strain for those who are more susceptible. The Pixel 9 Pro had a PWM of 240 Hz. The Pixel 10 Pro will follow the industry trend of increasing this value.

However, the basic Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro Fold are slated to maintain the old 240 Hz PWM. Regardless, all Pixel 10 models might receive a brightness boost. The Pixel 10 is expected to reach 2000 nits, whereas the Pro models could reach 2250 nits, which is an improvement of around 10 percent over previous generations.

The upgrades signal Google’s commitment to improving the Pixel line’s display quality. As the technology evolves, these improvements are a positive sign for consumers.
