Google Ads Now Supports Facebook Messenger & Zalo for Conversational ⁤Campaigns

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA – Google Ads advertisers can now extend customer conversations beyond WhatsApp and ⁤SMS, with the addition of Facebook Messenger and Zalo ⁣to its message asset functionality. The expansion, announced today,‍ allows marketers to⁣ initiate ⁤direct messaging with‍ potential customers across a wider range of ‍popular platforms directly from‌ Performance Max and other campaigns.

This move broadens Google’s commitment to conversational advertising, enabling ‌businesses to connect with audiences on the messaging services they already use. Previously limited to WhatsApp buisness and SMS, the integration aims to improve customer engagement by ⁤meeting users where they are, rather than requiring them to adopt a specific platform. The update‌ is particularly relevant for businesses targeting regions where‍ Facebook Messenger and Zalo are dominant communication channels.

The expansion is rolling out globally on Android devices ⁢and across 52 countries on iOS. It follows Google’s recent message asset policy updates,‌ including new phone verification requirements taking effect August 1, 2025, designed to enhance ⁤user trust and security.Performance Max campaigns, known for their ‌automated optimization and access to Google’s full advertising inventory,⁤ will fully support the new messaging platforms. These campaigns leverage conversion data and ⁣audience insights to automatically adjust bidding, targeting, and creative selection, maximizing performance across all available placements, including the newly added messaging services.

The integration is intended to address regional communication preferences and create more effective engagement opportunities for businesses operating in diverse geographic markets. Facebook Messenger and⁢ Zalo integration will be available in regions with significant user adoption of ‍those platforms.
