Gianna Jessen’s Pro-Life Rally Blocked in Zurich Over Security Concerns

Zurich Denies Permit for City Center March Citing Security Concerns; Choice Venue Cited as Reason

Zurich, Switzerland – A planned march through the city center of Zurich has been denied a permit, with authorities citing “too high” risks for participants and bystanders and an inability to guarantee adequate police protection. However, the Zurich security directorate has offered a different explanation, stating that the unavailability of the Münsterhof square on the desired date of september 20th is due to renovations at the town house facility.

According to a spokesperson for the security directorate, the entire town house facility is scheduled for renovation from May to October 2025.During this period, the regular flea market will be relocated to the Münsterhof. This relocation means the Münsterhof will not be available for the march on September 20th. the directorate also noted that events held in Zurich-Oerlikon have proven successful from a security and police perspective in recent years.
