Getafe Submit Official Transfer Proposal to Free Agent Jadon Sancho
Getafe submitted an official proposal to free agent Jadon Sancho to try sign him, according to reports.
The Opening Offer From Getafe
La Liga outfit Getafe forwarded an opening offer to the 26-year-old winger as the club attempts to secure his signature. Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano confirmed that Getafe submitted an official proposal to try to sign Sancho as a free agent, noting that the club wants to repeat the Mason Greenwood deal. Sancho also holds proposals from the Middle East, while BBC Sport noted that the player favors a move away from England and remains open to all options.

Sancho Leaves Manchester United After Multiple Loan Spells
Sancho remains without a club following the expiration of his contract terms with Manchester United. The winger cost United £73m when he joined the club from Borussia Dortmund in 2021, according to sources. His five-year spell at Old Trafford was punctuated by multiple loan spells following a falling out with manager Erik ten Hag three years ago. During his time under contract with United, he returned to Dortmund, spent time on loan at Chelsea during the 2024-25 season where he scored in the Europa Conference League final victory, and spent last season on loan at Aston Villa under Unai Emery.
Recent Squad Additions At The Spanish Club
The pursuit of Sancho follows Getafe’s acquisition of veteran defender Dani Carvajal earlier in the week. Carvajal joined the Azulones on a free transfer after his contract with Real Madrid expired in June. The 34-year-old Spain right-back signed a contract running until June 2027 after winning 27 trophies with Madrid, including six Champions League titles. Getafe currently sits 14th in La Liga and competes in the Europa Conference League this season.

Sancho Trains at Flixton to Maintain Fitness
Following his release, Sancho utilized non-league club Flixton’s facilities in August for a private training session to maintain fitness, prompting social media speculation before the club clarified that he was not on trial or involved in transfer discussions. Flixton manager Alex Mortimer hosted the winger, who began his youth career at Manchester City before signing for Borussia Dortmund in 2017.
