GETAFE, SPAIN – Getafe City Council is moving forward with the construction of three new sports facilities in the neighborhoods of Los Molinos, buenavista, and Perales del Río, representing part of a larger municipal investment exceeding 25,000,000 euros in sports infrastructure this legislative term.The projects, funded through participatory budgeting commitments with residents, will add to existing recreational options in each area.
In Los Molinos, a Calistenia park will be built on a plot between Ingenious Avenue Hidalgo and Cueva de Salamanca street, completing the current sporting area. The park will feature three equipment areas, biosaludable games, and a hydration source.
Buenavista will receive a skating track and a small bike circuit for children, integrated with existing sports courts. The 2,800-square-meter action surface will also include 1,800 square meters of green space.
Perales del Río will be home to a new inline skates hockey track on José Echegaray street, measuring 1,450 square meters and designed to meet international competition standards, including spectator stands.
Thes projects are in addition to ongoing developments like the future civic and sports center in Los Molinos (7,600,000 euro investment), Phase II of the San Isidro Sports Center featuring a football field and multi-purpose rooms (8,500,000 euro investment), and planned facilities in Buenavista - a basketball pavilion, four paddle tracks, a Pumptrack circuit, and another Calisthenics area (1,500,000 euro investment). Work is also progressing on a new pool in El Bercial.
