Gainesville, Fla. – the university of Florida’s gymnastics program is celebrating a significant academic achievement, matching its all-time high of 17 student-athletes named to the Southeastern Conference (SEC) Winter and First-Year Academic Honor Rolls. Earlier in 2025, the Florida gymnastics team had already set a high mark by placing 14 members on the SEC Winter Academic Honor Roll. Combining these achievements, the program equals its previous record of 17, achieved in 2022 and 2024.

SEC Academic Honor Roll Criteria
To qualify for the SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll, student-athletes must meet specific criteria. These include maintaining a GPA of 3.00 or higher for the preceding academic year or a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or above at the nominating institution. Additionally, athletes must be on scholarship, be a letter winner, have completed 24 semester hours of non-remedial credit at the nominating institution, and have been a member of the varsity team for the sport’s entire NCAA Championship segment.
