Qingyang City, Tianqi Hongyuan Join Forces for Green Energy Revolution
A groundbreaking collaboration between the Qingyang Municipal Government in Gansu Province and Tianqi Hongyuan, a subsidiary of Tongli Risheng, is set to propel green energy initiatives. This strategic agreement aims to advance green power direct connection, aligning with national objectives for sustainable development and establishing a pioneering model.
Strategic Partnership Unveiled
On June 13, a significant strategic cooperation framework agreement was signed by the Qingyang Municipal Government and Tianqi Hongyuan, a subsidiary of Tongli Risheng. This partnership underscores Qingyang City’s commitment to promoting green power and contributing to the “east number and west calculation” strategy. This collaboration builds upon previous agreements between Qingyang City and Tongli Risheng, especially Tianqi Hongyuan. The Tongli Risheng Qingyang energy storage initiative is progressing steadily.
Green Energy Initiative
The agreement aligns closely with national energy policy directives. A recent notice clarified that green electricity direct connection involves supplying power directly to a single user via a dedicated line. This approach, where the power source can be clearly traced, seeks to elevate new energy consumption levels. It satisfies the green energy demands of users. The Qingyang project’s “direct supply data center for energy storage power stations” model exemplifies this, particularly in its off-grid character.
The existing collaboration between Qingyang City, Tongli Risheng, and Tianqi Hongyuan dates back to March of this year. This initial agreement launched extensive cooperation in the realms of new energy equipment manufacturing and energy storage applications. The three parties plan to collaborate on energy storage equipment manufacturing bases and energy storage power stations.
Liquid Cooling Technology
On June 12, Tianqi Hongyuan and Shell China entered into a strategic partnership centered on fully immersive liquid cooling technology. This technology submerges critical components, such as batteries, in a specialized coolant, promoting uniform and efficient heat dissipation. This method extends the lifespan of energy storage systems.
“The immersion coolant launched by Shell can replace traditional air-cooled systems. On the basis of ensuring consistent operating stability, it helps data centers reduce energy consumption and operational costs and solves the “heat dissipation anxiety” of data centers in the context of doubling the demand for AI computing power.”
—Shell Representative
The use of immersion coolant, developed by Shell, is growing in data centers, with the market expected to reach $3.3 billion by 2028 Statista, 2024.
Energy Storage Solutions
Tianqi Hongyuan is advancing clean energy through its microgrid technology. The company is involved in projects like the world’s largest grid-side energy storage power station. They have experience in system integration, battery management, and large-scale production, especially with liquid cooling technology. Their fully immersive energy storage system maintains minimal temperature differences across batteries.
The collaboration combines Shell’s expertise in coolant research and Tianqi Hongyuan’s strength in lithium battery energy storage system integration. The companies will focus on fully immersive liquid cooling technology, including its development and application in lithium-ion battery energy storage, leading to safer, efficient energy storage solutions.
