Gangwon Innovation Center Hosts Networking Event for Local Ventures
Gangwon Province,South Korea – november 24,2023 - The Gangwon Creative Economy Innovation Center,led by CEO Hae-Jeong Lee,held a networking event dubbed ‘2025 Gangwon Local Venture Buisness Networking – Fall Break’ on November 19th at the Yangyang Sol Beach Resort Convention Center. The event aimed to foster collaboration and exchange amongst venture companies within Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province.
A total of 25 individuals, including representatives and executives from 11 local venture companies, participated in the event. The programme featured a keynote speech from Choi Ji-baek, CEO of The Wave Company, focusing on “Definition of Local Ventures, Current Status of Support Projects, and Entrepreneur’s mindset.” Kim Seok-gi, CEO of Yangyang Youth Cooperative, delivered a special lecture on “Surfboard Artwork.” The event also included dedicated time for free networking between attendees.
CEO Choi Ji-baek’s speech resonated with participants, offering insights into the concept of local ventures, current support policies, and the mindset of a regional entrepreneur.
“It was a time of practical learning and inspiration through exchanges with other companies,” stated Jinhee Jeong, CEO of Le Sabong, who attended the event. “I hope that this type of exchange will continue to expand and have a positive impact on the local startup ecosystem.”
An official from the gangwon Innovation Center emphasized the event’s value, stating, “This event was an possibility for not only local business representatives but also executives and employees to participate and share diverse voices from the field and build a foundation for practical cooperation.” They further affirmed the Center’s commitment to supporting local ventures, adding, “We will continue to provide active support so that local ventures can grow beyond the region and onto the national and global stages.”
The networking event is part of the broader Gangwon Local Venture Business Development Project, supported by the Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province. This project focuses on revitalizing the local economy by identifying and nurturing businesses that leverage the region’s unique characteristics and resources through innovative ideas.
