Samsung is offering up to $900 in trade-in credit towards the new Galaxy S26 series, a promotion mirroring last year’s offer for the S25 launch, according to details released Wednesday. The incentive, a key driver of smartphone sales, is particularly generous for those upgrading from existing Galaxy devices, but also extends to eligible iPhones and Google Pixel phones.
The maximum trade-in value of $900 is available for customers trading in a Galaxy S25 Ultra or a Galaxy Z Fold 6. Samsung is also offering $700 for a Galaxy S25+ or Galaxy Z Fold 5 trade-in, and $500 for the Galaxy S25 or Galaxy Z Fold 3. Older devices, such as the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, can still fetch a respectable $500 in credit.
Trade-in values for Galaxy devices generally remain higher than those offered for competing brands. A Galaxy S24 Ultra, for example, will earn $800 towards a new S26 Ultra, while a Galaxy S24 will yield $500. The value drops for older Galaxy models, with a Galaxy S23 Ultra earning $650 and a Galaxy S22 Ultra fetching $500.
For iPhone users, the top trade-in value is $645 for an iPhone 17 Pro Max, a decrease from the $700 offered for comparable models during the S25 launch. Other iPhone models also saw reductions; an iPhone 16 Pro Max is valued at $590, while an iPhone 16 is worth $405. Trade-in values for Google Pixel devices experienced a more significant decline. A Pixel 9 Pro XL is currently valued at $370, down from $600 for a Pixel 8 Pro during last year’s promotion.
Samsung accepts trade-ins only from Galaxy, iPhone, and Pixel devices. A complete breakdown of trade-in values is as follows:
