Galatasaray Officials Meet with TFF Amidst Derby Controversy
ISTANBUL – Galatasaray club leadership escalated concerns over officiating in Sunday’s 1-1 draw against Fenerbahçe by directly engaging with Turkish Football Federation (TFF) officials on Monday. The move follows strong criticism of referee Yasin Kol from the club, voiced both through social media and post-match statements from Vice president Metin Öztürk.
The contentious derby, played in the 14th week of the Trendyol Super League, has sparked a formal protest from Galatasaray, who allege biased refereeing impacted the outcome. The club believes critical decisions during the match – specifically between the 55th and 95th minutes - unfairly disadvantaged their team. This meeting represents a notable step in Galatasaray’s efforts to address their grievances and seek greater transparency in officiating.
President Dursun Özbek and Sportif AŞ Deputy President Abdullah Kavukcu arrived at the TFF’s Riva Hasan Doğan National Teams Camp and Training Facilities around 3:00 PM local time today, December 2, 2025, for a meeting with TFF President İbrahim Hacıosmanoğlu.
During the meeting, Galatasaray presented a 10-minute video compilation highlighting what they consider to be questionable calls made by the referee.According to reports, the club directly accused officials of orchestrating “an operation” against them.
Neither Özbek nor kavukcu offered comments to the press following the closed-door discussion. The outcome of the meeting and any potential repercussions for the officiating crew remain unknown at this time. The TFF has not yet released a statement regarding the encounter.
