FromSoftware Reportedly developing New Multiplatform Title Codenamed “FMC” for 2026 Release
According to a report from MP1st, FromSoftware is allegedly preparing a new multiplatform game, codenamed “FMC,” with a potential release in 2026.This unannounced project is said to be in an advanced stage of growth. The report also suggests that FromSoftware is continuing to work on updates and DLC for “Elden Ring: Nightfall” and “The duskbloods” for the Nintendo Switch 2.
While official confirmation from FromSoftware is pending, the codename “FMC” offers a potential clue. Historically, FromSoftware’s internal codenames starting with ‘F’ have been associated with established franchises. For instance, “Dark Souls II” was internally known as FRPG2, and “Dark Souls III” as FDP. This pattern suggests that “FMC” may not be a new intellectual property but rather a new installment, remake, or remaster within a pre-existing series.
This news comes as Hidetaka Miyazaki, the creator of the “Souls” series, previously stated in December 2024 that a “new FromSoftware” was being formed, one that would experiment with new experiences and different genres, with several projects already underway. The nature of the “FMC” project and whether it will deviate from the studio’s established gameplay formulas remains to be seen.
