Freshly-Seen Tea Ceremony – Shibuya Sky’s Unique Sensory Experience

SHIBUYA,‌ TOKYO – ‍Shibuya Scramble Square is elevating the ‍customary Japanese tea ceremony with a novel⁣ experience-Freshly-theater Tea Ceremony-debuting at its SHIBUYA SKY observation deck, 229.7 meters‍ above the iconic Shibuya crossing. The immersive event⁣ aims to heighten the five senses through a unique blend of tea,⁣ scent, sound, and light.

The new tea ceremony offers a contemporary take on a centuries-old practice,designed to provide a moment of mindful respite amidst ⁢the bustling cityscape. Operated by Shibuya Scramble Square co., Ltd., a ⁤joint investment by Tokyu Corporation, ⁢East Japan Railway Company,‌ and ​Tokyo Subway Co., ⁣Ltd., the experience ‍builds on⁢ the ⁤success ​of SHIBUYA SKY, which opened November 1, 2019, ⁢as part ⁤of the larger​ Shibuya Scramble ⁣Square progress. phase II of the project, encompassing the Central and West Buildings, is slated⁤ for completion in 2031.

Shibuya scramble Square, comprised of Phase ‍I (East Building) with approximately 181,000 square meters and Phase II (Central/West Buildings) totaling around 95,000 square meters, functions as a multi-use complex featuring offices, retail spaces, and the observation facilities at SHIBUYA SKY. The East Building reaches a height of 229.7 meters, while the Central and West Buildings stand at approximately 61 and 76 meters respectively.
