The Orquesta Filarmónica de Bogotá will perform two free concerts this Friday, February 27th, and Saturday, February 28th, 2026, at the León de Greiff Auditorium of the Universidad Nacional de Colombia in Bogotá.
The Friday performance, beginning at 7:00 p.m., and the Saturday matinee, at 4:00 p.m., will feature the program “Leyendas magníficas.” The orchestra, under the direction of Svetoslav Borisov, will be joined by Venezuelan trumpeter Pacho Flores as a soloist. The concerts are free and open to the public, with seating available on a first-come, first-served basis until capacity is reached, according to a statement from the Bogotá city government.
The musical program includes works by Johann Baptist Georg Neruda, Roberto Sierra, and Robert Schumann. Flores, described as one of the world’s leading trumpeters, previously performed with the Orquesta Filarmónica de Bogotá in May 2021, as documented in a YouTube video of the performance.
The Orquesta Filarmónica de Bogotá has been providing music for 40 years, and this event is part of the ongoing celebrations of Bogotá’s 486th anniversary. The concerts are being promoted as part of the city’s “Bogotá, mi Ciudad, mi Casa” cultural initiative.
The León de Greiff Auditorium is located on the Universidad Nacional de Colombia’s Bogotá campus, at Avenida NQS or Carrera 30 #45-03.
