Franklin Templeton to Expand ETF Offerings in peru, Cites US Tech Investment Prospect
lima, Peru – Franklin Templeton Investments plans to introduce additional Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) to the Peruvian market next year, building on its recent expansion from 8 to 18 ETF products. The firm is carefully evaluating investment flows to determine the timing and scope of future approvals, according to Sergio Guerrien, Director & Country Manager South America for Franklin Templeton.
While the ETF market in Peru remains relatively small,Franklin templeton sees notable opportunity in providing Peruvian investors access to US markets, particularly within the technology sector. Guerrien noted that ”not investing in the United States…means in some way not investing in technology,” referencing the performance of major US tech companies. However, he also highlighted undervalued sectors within the US market, such as healthcare, as potential investment avenues.
The move comes as foreign investment in the Peruvian stock market has declined amid recent political instability. Franklin Templeton’s expansion of ETF offerings aims to provide a diversified range of investment options for Peruvian investors seeking exposure to global markets and specific sectors.
