The annual dog show hosted by the Fort St. john and District Kennel Club drew crowds to Taylor, B.C., over the victoria Day weekend. The event, held at the Taylor District Ice Centre from May 16th to 19th, saw dogs competing from across Canada. Expert judges evaluated approximately 170 dogs per show, with winners receiving the coveted ‘Best in Show’ rosette. A Victoria Day Weekend Tradition
The annual Fort St.John and District Kennel Club dog show, a tradition since 1982, once again drew crowds to Taylor, B.C., over the Victoria Day weekend. This year’s event took place from May 16-19 at the Taylor District ice Centre.

Dog owners and their canine companions journeyed from across Canada, including Manitoba and Whitehorse, to participate in the prestigious event. The Taylor District Ice Centre was transformed into a showcase of canine excellence, hosting two shows daily, totaling eight shows throughout the weekend.
Approximately 170 dogs competed in each show, vying for the coveted “best in Show” rosette.

Donna fox, president of the Fort St. John and District Kennel club, emphasized the strong sense of community fostered by the event. I love the dog show and the dog show community. I’ve made a lot of friends here.
she also expressed her recognition for the variety of breeds on display, stating, I just love seeing all the different kinds of dogs.
Ms. Fox has served as president of the club for approximately 20 years and currently owns three dachshunds. At one point, she owned around 16 dogs.
