Dr. finlay began his tenure at Sarasota Memorial Health Care System in 1972, joining as a pulmonologist. His dedication and leadership quickly became apparent, leading him to serve as chief of staff during the 1980s.
he later advanced to hold positions such as vice president of medical affairs and chief medical officer. In 2000, Dr. Finlay assumed the role of president and CEO, a period marked by significant “turmoil and change” for the health system, according to a July 25 news release.
