Apple’s Foldable iPhone Projected to Launch with Premium Price Tag, Around $2,400

TAIPEI, Taiwan – Apple’s highly anticipated foldable iPhone could carry‍ a‌ price ‌tag of approximately $2,400, according to a recent note from Fubon⁤ Securities, a Taiwanese brokerage. The⁢ projection, reported by Investing.com and⁤ summarized by MacRumors, positions the device substantially above current iPhone models and underscores Apple’s strategy of targeting the high-end smartphone market.

The potential cost reflects advanced engineering and component sourcing for the device, currently dubbed “iPhone Fold.” Development hinges on a collaborative effort between Apple,Shin Zu Shing, and American Amphenol, utilizing a “liquid metal” in⁤ the hinge mechanism designed for durability and⁣ to prevent ⁢a prominent crease-a common‍ issue in ‌existing foldable phones. ‍The device is currently slated‌ for a 2026 release, with significant camera upgrades planned for the iPhone 18 series alongside it.

Fubon’s analysis also suggests the iPhone 18 Pro models will‍ feature a variable aperture in the main camera, perhaps supplied exclusively by Largan due to the technology’s complexity. While the foldable iPhone isn’t expected to immediately adopt this ‌feature, rumors indicate⁣ it ⁢will include a dual rear camera system (wide-angle and ultra-wide-angle) paired with dual ⁣front cameras.

The projected foldable⁢ iPhone will ⁤utilize⁤ a Samsung-produced panel and a uniquely designed ⁢hinge. Neither Apple nor‌ Foxconn have officially commented ‌on ⁣the reports regarding price, specifications, or launch timelines. ⁣Information remains‌ based on leaks from ⁢Apple’s Asian supply chain and analyst reports.
