Floodwaters kill two in New Jersey during heavy rains that hit Northeast

Flash flood watches and warnings have largely concluded across new Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania as the severe weather system moves out of the region.

In North Plainfield, a house in a neighborhood experiencing flooding caught fire and afterward collapsed during the storm. Authorities reported an explosion at the residence, but confirmed that the family was not present at the time, and no injuries were sustained. The cause of the fire is currently under inquiry.
