Hat Yai Flood Crisis: Restoration Deadline Set as Aid Reaches Thousands

Compensation Payments Underway
As of Wednesday, the government is directly remitting 9,000 baht to each of 97,466 families impacted by the floods across Songkhla, Satun, Narathiwat, and Pattani provinces. The distribution breakdown is as follows:

- Satun: 10,812 families
- Narathiwat: 7,305 families

The Government Savings Bank initiated transfers this morning, with other banks completing the process this afternoon. Prior to this, on Monday, 9,000 baht was disbursed to 25,908 families. Authorities report that approximately 650 families experienced delays in receiving compensation due to complications linking their bank accounts to the PromptPay system or due to account inactivity.
Sustained Support for Flood-Affected Communities
Prime Minister anutin Charnvirakul has ordered the continuation of free fresh food provisions for flood victims for a period of one month. Local administrations have received budgetary allocations to facilitate the distribution of funds to municipalities,which will establish kitchens to provide essential meals to those in need.
To expedite relief efforts, local administrations have been granted the authority to process compensation payments without the standard oversight from the Office of State Audit Commission. All compensation payments are being processed through the PromptPay system. For individuals who have lost their identification cards, mobile units from the Department of Provincial Administration are available to issue replacements.
