Finn Wolfhard to Host Saturday Night Live with Musical Guest A$AP Rocky
Saturday Night Live kicks off the new year with a night of firsts. finn Wolfhard will host his inaugural SNL appearance, and A$AP Rocky will join him as the night’s musical guest.
A Promising Duo
In a new promo video, Wolfhard, A$AP Rocky, and comedian Sarah Sherman already demonstrate a natural rapport. A$AP Rocky offers Wolfhard advice: “When in doubt, just say ‘I’m handsome.’” Wolfhard confidently delivers the line, while Sherman provides a humorous, awkward attempt. “It’s kind of our thing,” Wolfhard explains.
Nods to Stranger Things
The promo features brief skits, including one where Wolfhard gauges the trio’s excitement on a scale of one to ten. Both he and A$AP Rocky playfully answer “11,” a nod to Stranger things, the show Wolfhard starred in for five seasons, which recently concluded with its series finale.
A$AP Rocky’s SNL Debut and New Album
Saturday’s episode marks A$AP Rocky’s first time as a musical guest, though he previously made a cameo in a 2018 sketch alongside Donald Glover, Kenan Thompson, Chris Redd, and Cecily Strong. This week has been especially exciting for Rocky, as he released his highly-anticipated fourth album, his first LP in eight years, on Friday.
