Tokyo, Japan – Final Fantasy XIV (FFXIV) producer Naoki “Yoshi-P” Yoshida has affirmed the gameS continued support for both current-generation and previous-generation (PlayStation 4) consoles, citing increased hardware capabilities and a commitment to its player base.
Yoshida revealed that the performance of today’s consoles simplifies performance adjustments compared to previous development cycles. He views the increased hardware power as a positive development for the game’s future. “The addition of hardware performance is a good thing that is not worth rejected,” Yoshida stated.
Notably, Yoshida also pledged to maintain support for FFXIV on the PlayStation 4 console for provided that feasible. This commitment comes as other live service game developers, such as those behind Genshin Impact, have begun phasing out support for the older sony console.
