A diverse range of sports disciplines will be featured, including dance shows, basketball tournaments, chess tables open to all, climbing walls, martial arts, baseball, and motorcycling. These activities will animate various locations across the city, from Coletta Park and the new dock to the municipal square and more peripheral areas. While the full plan is still being finalized, a meaningful highlight will be the inauguration of the renewed Cittadella dello Sport on via Porta Catena on the afternoon of Friday, september 26. The schedule also includes the Memorial Falchetti on Friday morning in the Darsena, an ‘open parks’ activity for seniors, and a dedicated section for inclusion and adaptive physical activities.
International guests are anticipated, though their identities remain undisclosed. However, sports presenter Max Callegari is confirmed to return to his hometown from Mediaset studios for the occasion. Reports suggest that discussions are underway with at least two former footballers. One is said to have played for Milan in the 1990s, while the other was a participant in an Italian national team victory during the new millennium.
The timing of the festival is strategic, coinciding with the European Sports Week.Ferrara has applied to be recognized as a ‘European City of Sport.’ “The European Commission Aces will visit us,” stated Carità, expressing hope for an award at the event’s conclusion. Over 50 sports clubs are involved. carità noted that a clearer picture of participation numbers will emerge after the event, which will also help determine if the festival can become an annual fixture.
