Fernando Aramayo denies presidential aircraft was used for vacation

Fernando Aramayo denies presidential aircraft was used for vacation

October 6, 2026 Lucas Fernandez – World Editor World

Minister of the Presidency Fernando Aramayo stated that a stop made by the presidential aircraft in Boca Ratón, Florida, during the return trip of Rodrigo Paz from an official mission followed standard travel planning. Aramayo denied that the head of state used the official aircraft for a family or vacation trip.

Minister Rejects Claims of Private Jet Costs

The presidential flight carried a delegation of ministers alongside Paz, according to the government’s official statements. Aramayo addressed circulating claims by rejecting versions that a private jet was hired for the trip at an alleged cost of $250,000.

All flight permissions and authorizations remain fully public records, the minister noted. He also questioned descriptions connecting the stop in Florida to an extended stay in luxury residences, pointing out that Boca Ratón features a small and isolated airport.

Family Presence and Scheduled Itinerary

Aramayo confirmed that relatives of Paz, including his father-in-law, have lived in the Boca Ratón area for several years. He admitted that the President could have used the scale to greet family members, noting that public officials often encounter relatives in destination or transit points during official missions.

There is also naturally family in different spaces that one has and, bueno, pues, yes one stops to greet them, but it hasn’t been an issue like it’s being framed, Aramayo stated in an interview with Erbol.

The minister emphasized that the presence of relatives did not motivate the flight’s stopover schedule. Presidential agendas during international travel routinely account for multiple operational activities.

Government Plans to Release Flight Documentation

Government officials criticized the stopover for generating what they termed a public scandal driven by interpretations designed to affect the President’s image. Authorities announced plans to release additional, more explicit documentation detailing the exact circumstances of the flight and the specifics of the Florida stop.

The administration intends to transparently disclose all logistics related to the journey to dispel ongoing questions regarding the use of the presidential aircraft.
