Fencing Schedule 2025-26: UC San Diego Tritons

UC ​San Diego​ Fencing announces 2025-26 Competition Schedule

LA JOLLA, Calif. -‍ The⁤ UC San Diego fencing program has released its schedule‍ for⁣ the 2025-26 season, building on the momentum of a historic 2024-25 campaign where both the men’s and women’s teams captured team titles at the MPSF Championships for the first time.

The ​Tritons will host the NCAA West Regional ⁢Championships and the MPSF Championships. The West Regional will include UC San Diego,⁣ Air ‌Force,⁤ Incarnate Word, and Stanford. The MPSF Championships⁢ will feature all teams accept Stanford.

The season culminates at the National Collegiate⁣ Fencing Championships, hosted ⁣by Notre Dame‍ in South Bend, Indiana, from March 19-22. UC San Diego has qualified fencers‍ for the national event in 10 consecutive ⁣seasons.

Last⁣ season, the Tritons achieved three regional championships and ‌three MPSF championships, sending five fencers to the ⁤National Collegiate Fencing championships. Freshman⁢ Katherine Kim earned ‌Second Team All-American honors with a seventh-place finish at nationals.Of the eight fencers responsible ⁢for thes accomplishments, seven ‌are returning for the‍ 2025-26 season.

Head Coach Calderon ⁤is entering his eighth⁢ season leading the Triton program, which consists of 39 scholar-athletes -⁤ 18 ‍men⁤ and 21 women -⁤ including 27 returners ⁤and 12 newcomers.

UC ⁣San​ Diego is in its​ second year as a member of The ​Big West Conference in NCAA Division ⁣I, after two decades of ‌success in‌ NCAA Division II, earning 30 ‌team and ​nearly ⁤150 ‌individual national‌ championships. The⁣ program ⁤boasts nearly⁢ 1,400 All-America honors, 83 Academic All-America honors, and ‌39 NCAA Post ‌Graduate scholarships. ​UC⁤ San Diego scholar-athletes maintain a graduation rate⁢ of ⁣90 percent,the highest ⁢among public institutions in NCAA ⁣Division I or II.
