Favola Fragile debuts Cinema Inclusion Factory in Marche region
Cinema Inclusion Factory, a new initiative designed to integrate fragile individuals into professional audiovisual production, is scheduled to debut in the Marche region in collaboration with AST Macerata – UOC Prevenzione Sicurezza Ambienti di Lavoro.
Launching Production and Training Across Regions
Conceived by the ETS organization Favola Fragile, the project pairs vulnerable participants with film industry professionals to collaborate on writing, acting, directing, production, and technical roles. The initial months focus on training and experimentation, allowing participants to discover their strengths rather than assigning roles beforehand. A subsequent phase brings the group onto a professional film set to complete a shared audiovisual work by December 2027.
The model has already established a presence in Friuli Venezia Giulia through a partnership with Fondazione La Fonte Comunità Famiglia ETS in Trieste. Project managers aim to solidify operations there early next year. Francesca Bettini, a designer with Favola Fragile, noted that the project relies on structured planning rather than improvised inclusion, creating a secure environment where diverse participants can contribute meaningfully.
Challenging Labels Through Collaborative Filmmaking
Founder Leonardo Accattoli developed the initiative after years of working in theatrical and cinematic contexts involving vulnerable groups. The underlying objective centers on breaking down personal and social barriers through the medium of film rather than treating vulnerability as a static condition.
Accattoli explained that today, more than ever, everyone is fragile, and that the problem is often not the fragility itself but the labels that certain fragilities bring.
By treating each participant through the lens of individual capacity and desire, the project treats the film set as a paritaric space where every crew member contributes to the finished work.
