Swedish Marketplace CDON Sold Counterfeit Labubu Toys, Leaving Young Buyer Disappointed

Several Swedish companies, including the publicly listed online marketplace CDON, have been found to have sold counterfeit Labubu collectible toys. The issue came to light following a report by SVT’s Lilla Aktuellt (Small News).
A Disappointing Purchase for a 12-Year-Old
Leija Pythinen, a 12-year-old shopper, purchased a Labubu toy from CDON for SEK 499. Upon receiving the item, it was discovered to be a fake.
“For me it doesn’t matter anyway, because you spend money on it. After all, I was sad for one, two days,”
Leija Pythinen, as reported by SVT Lilla Aktuellt
Leija successfully returned the toy and received a refund after demonstrating it was not an authentic product.
Potential for Widespread Issue
Christine Fransholm, a consumer advisor at Sweden’s consumer organization, suggests that many other customers may have unknowingly purchased counterfeit Labubu toys and haven’t yet sought a refund, representing a notable “dark figure” of unreported cases.
CDON and Isecrets Respond
CDON responded to Lilla aktuellt by stating they operate solely as a marketplace and directed responsibility to Isecrets, the vendor who supplied the product. Isecrets initially claimed to only sell genuine goods but later admitted to previously selling counterfeit copies.
