If you have opened the online crime map, you will see the colored highlighting by county. Pink is below 4,000 and the maximum value is dark blue over 7,000 crimes per 100,000 inhabitants.
The national average is around 5,200 – you can use the map to check whether your district is above or below. To do this, scroll the mouse wheel to enlarge the map.
With a click on your district you get more information and the exact value. You can also directly enter the name of the district or your city in the search field.
Overall, there is a north-south divide in Germany, and the rate in cities is significantly higher. However, crimes are also committed by visitors in cities and metropolitan areas, which are recorded here by crime scene.
