James Jordan and Polina Mayer, 34, have performed together on stage since 2024 and participated in a UK tour alongside other former Strictly professionals including Brendan Cole, Pasha Kovalev, Vincent Simone, and Ian Waite. Jamie Cutler told Ola that he believed James and Polina grew close during this tour. That timeline matched the period when James and Ola began to grow apart, according to a source close to Ola. She noted that James had started pushing her away and talking about struggling mentally.

Those close to James insisted that his relationship with Polina did not begin until after his split from Ola. A spokeswoman representing both James and Polina confirmed to The Sun on Sunday that the pair had grown closer in recent weeks after separating from their respective partners.
