Ex-NGT48 Member Saaya Kawagoe Lands Peace Combat Cover
Former NGT48 member Saaya Kawagoe has secured her first-ever magazine cover on the November 2026 issue of survival game publication PEACE COMBAT, published by Astwa, triggering a three-city promotional panel exhibition running through October 27, 2026.
Three Bookstores Host Special Exhibitions for New Issue
The release of the 1,430-yen A4-size issue has brought special displays to three distinct bookstores across Japan. Tokyo visitors can view the exhibition at magmabooks inside Toranomon Hills in Minato Ward. In Osaka, TSUTAYA EBISUBASHI hosts the collection on its fourth-floor special space. Meanwhile, Junkyudo Bookstore Nagoya features the display on the first floor of Horiuchi Building.
Each location offers specific purchase incentives for buyers of the November 2026 volume. Customers at all three stores receive a limited-edition raw photographic print with their purchase. Each venue runs a lottery for autographed panels, though entry mechanics vary. TSUTAYA EBISUBASHI issues serial-numbered entry slips for online submission, while Nagoya collects written entries via a ballot box at the register to award ten B3-sized signed panels.
Military Gear Contrasts with Prior Gravure Work
For her debut magazine cover, Kawagoe wears heavy military gear and holds a realistic firearm with detailed weight replication. The interior spreads span six pages, featuring a shift in aesthetic that pairs the tactical equipment with an emerald green China-style cosplay outfit while maintaining the prop weaponry.
This appearance builds upon her post-idol media ventures since graduating from NGT48 at the end of February 2024, following her 2018 debut as a second-generation member and six consecutive single selection appearances. KADOKAWA published her first photobook, Nantonaka Runaru, in October 2025, followed by an all-other digital edition titled Nantonaka Kamokamo in June 2026. Prior to the ongoing exhibitions, an in-person hand-delivery event took place on October 10, 2026, at Tower Records Niigata Store, maintaining her ties to the region where her idol career began.
