Former Michigan Wolverines head coach Sherrone Moore has listed his five-bedroom, 5.5-bathroom home on Walnut Ridge Drive in Ann Arbor, Michigan, for $1.7 million, according to Realtor.com and reporting by The Detroit News. The listing follows Moore’s firing, subsequent criminal misdemeanor plea, and sentencing to 18 months of probation amid an affair scandal.
The residential property spans a half-acre and sits roughly a 15-minute drive from the University of Michigan campus. Property records cited by The Detroit News indicate the house was last sold for $1.3 million in 2023. That same year, Moore served as the program’s offensive coordinator and offensive line coach under then-head coach Jim Harbaugh, briefly stepping in as acting head coach for one game during a suspension.
From National Championship Coordinator to Wolverines Head Coach
Moore later ascended to the head coaching position after Harbaugh departed for the Los Angeles Chargers following the program’s national championship-winning campaign.
During his tenure leading the Wolverines, Moore compiled a 16-8 record, going 8-5 in his first season and 7-3 the following year, while missing two games due to a suspension stemming from a sign-stealing investigation.
Affair Disclosure and Subsequent Police Investigation
The scandal erupted after an executive assistant, identified in reports as Shriver, disclosed their relationship to university officials, which triggered Moore’s firing.
Subsequent police investigations revealed that Moore drove to Shriver’s home, forced his way inside, and threatened self-harm with a butter knife and scissors after Shriver attempted to end the affair.
Misdemeanor Plea and Court-Mandated Probation Terms
Following the incident, Moore pleaded no contest to two misdemeanors. Judge Cedric Simpson sentenced him to 18 months of probation, avoiding jail time, and ordered him to pay just over $1,000 in fines.
The terms of the plea deal mandate ongoing mental health treatment, a strict prohibition against using alcohol or marijuana, a ban on possessing weapons, and a no-contact order regarding the victim.
Wife’s Support and Future Uncertainty in Collegiate Athletics
Kelli Moore, the coach’s wife, stood by him throughout the legal proceedings. She submitted a letter to Judge Simpson asking for leniency and appeared at her husband’s sentencing hearing this past April. During the proceedings, Judge Simpson remarked on her steadfastness, noting the irony that the person supporting him through the court process was the one who had been betrayed.
