Shannon Workinger of The Evergreen State College secured the championship in the 160-pound weight class at the Cascade Collegiate Conference Women’s Wrestling Championships, held in February 2026, according to information released by ThurstonTalk.com.
Workinger’s performance follows a strong showing earlier in the season at the NWCA/USMC Multi-Division National Dual Meet Championships in January, where she won all three of her matches, as reported by GoGeoducks.com. She is currently nationally ranked #4 in the NAIA in her weight class.
The Evergreen State College women’s wrestling team also demonstrated success at the Evergreen Open on January 18, 2026, winning four individual championships, according to the Cascade Conference. Workinger’s championship at the CCC event builds on this earlier team success.
Prior to the CCC Championships, Workinger competed against Vida Boskovic of Southern Oregon University in a Wrestleback match at the 160 lbs weight class during the NWCA National Duals on January 9, 2026, as documented by Flowrestling.org.
The Evergreen State College team is now preparing for further competition following their performance at the CCC Championships, though details of their next scheduled event have not been publicly released.
