Broadcast personalities Erin Andrews and Charissa Thompson have publicly lauded Taylor Swift’s impact on the NFL, acknowledging the significant boost in viewership and engagement as she began attending Kansas City Chiefs games to support boyfriend Travis Kelce. Their comments come amid ongoing discussion about Swift’s prominent presence during broadcasts and its effect on the traditionally male-dominated sport.
The increased attention Swift brings to the NFL extends beyond ratings, offering a gateway for new audiences – notably women and younger fans – to engage with football. “She’s clearly not a casual fan. She’s gone all in,which is really great,” Chiefs Chairman and CEO Clark Hunt told US Magazine in December 2023. “Again, we couldn’t be more happy for their relationship and we’re happy to have Taylor as part of the Chiefs Kingdom.” this sentiment is echoed by Andrews and Thompson, who recognize the positive shift in the league’s demographic.

But I know our fans really enjoy it and love having her there knowing that she’s such a great Chiefs fan. It does create a different energy when she’s in attendance.”
