ENA Drama Love Doctor Premieres from 1.8% to 2.4% Ratings
The ENA Monday-Tuesday drama Love Doctor premiered to a 1.8% Nielsen nationwide paid household rating on October 5, before rising to 2.4% for its second episode the following night, according to Nielsen Korea figures. The series follows doctoral student Park Min-jae, a former swimmer who lost his right leg to osteosarcoma, and master’s student Lim Yu-jin as they meet in a university robotics lab.
From a 1.8% Start to a 2.4% Rise in Two Days
The opening two episodes trace the introduction of Park Min-jae, played by Choo Young-woo, and Lim Yu-jin, played by Kim Seo-hyun. The premiere drew a 1.8% rating across the country, climbing by 0.6 percentage points to 2.4% by the second broadcast on October 6. The narrative centers on a university robotics laboratory where Min-jae works as a doctoral researcher and Yu-jin enters as a master’s student after losing her initial career direction. Director Ahn Pan-seok, known for The White Tower, The Beautiful Sister Who Cooks Well, and Spring Night, directed the series from a script by Min Hyo-jung, with music supervised by music director Lee Nam-yeon.
Ottobock Korea Provides Prosthetic Knee for Realism
The production incorporated physical realism into Min-jae’s character, who wears a prosthesis following his cancer treatment. Ottobock Korea participated in the production and on-site advisory process, supplying the Genium X4 microprocessor-controlled knee for the character’s active daily movements. Choo Young-woo underwent casting, test fittings, and alignment adjustments to portray the physical reality of prosthetic use, working alongside real prosthetic user and Ottobock Korea PR ambassador So Young-hwan during filming.
SLL Releases Second OST and Announces Airtimes
SLL released the drama's second OST, "Half of my heart," performed by American singer-songwriter Margaret Glaspy on October 6. The series airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 10 p.m. KST on ENA, with streaming availability on Genie TV and Disney+.
