emma Watson Finds Freedom From Film Promotion,Yearns for the Art of Acting
LOS ANGELES,CA - Emma Watson, best known for her role as Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter film series, revealed she misses acting itself but is relieved to have stepped away from the demanding world of film promotion, which she described as “soul-destroying.” the actress, who hasn’t appeared on screen as 2019’s little Women, shared her feelings in a recent interview with Hollywood Authentic.
While acknowledging her fortunate career trajectory, Watson explained that the balance between creative work and its subsequent marketing often felt skewed. ”In some ways I really won the lottery [with acting], and what happened to me is so unusual,” she said.Though, she confessed, “I do not miss selling things. I found that to be quite soul-destroying.”
Watson emphasized her deep connection to the artistic process, specifically the immersive experience of performing. She fondly recalled the focused intensity of being on set: “The moment you get to talk through a scene – or I got to prepare and think about how I wanted to do somthing – and then the minute the camera rolls, and getting to just fully forget about everything else in the world other than that one moment – it’s such an intense form of meditation.”
The actress also hinted at a new, currently undisclosed project, stating she is “working on something that I’ve never done before.” Despite pausing her acting career, Watson reports she is “maybe the happiest and healthiest I’ve ever been.”
She attributes this newfound well-being to shedding the pressures of maintaining a public persona. “there’s a tendency to sort of fracture yourself into multiple personalities,” watson explained, referring to the demands of both roles and public image. “shedding the multiple identities has freed up so much space, I think, for me to be a better sister, daughter, friend, granddaughter and then artist. and someone who’s trying to do some critical thinking of her own.”
