Toyota Delays Rollout of Key Electric Models in Norway
Toyota is adjusting its electric vehicle launch schedule for the Norwegian market, pushing back the arrival of the Urban Cruiser and CH-R+ to the first quarter of 2026, and the facelifted BZ4X to November at the earliest. The delays come as current stock of the initial BZ4X model nears sell-out, possibly impacting Toyota’s registration numbers in the coming months.
Norway, a leading market for electric vehicle adoption, is experiencing a shift in consumer preference towards EVs. While the Yaris and RAV4 remain available, sales of non-electric models are declining. The BZ4X has proven popular, with over 17,000 registrations to date, currently ranking as Norway’s second most registered model behind the tesla Model Y.
According to Toyota representatives, the Urban Cruiser was initially estimated to arrive in October, but is now expected in early 2026. The CH-R+, a crossover with a 60km range, will also not arrive until next year. The updated BZ4X, however, is anticipated to boost Toyota’s sales figures later this year.
