Here, a driver of a van caught the elderly woman on the road with his vehicle. Why the woman suddenly appeared on the street is still completely unclear. The 80-year-old was seriously injured in the collision. So much so that she “succumbed to her injuries on the way to the hospital.” A large contingent of police, fire brigade and rescue workers were on site. In addition to patrol crews from Lohr and Marktheidenfeld, the rescue service, a rescue helicopter and the volunteer fire brigade from Frammersbach were also deployed.
