Egypt-US Investment: SCZONE Attracts American Firms

US Delegation Explores Investment Opportunities in Egypt’s Suez Canal Economic Zone

A US delegation, comprised of representatives from leading infrastructure, technology, and logistics companies, is visiting Egypt’s Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE) to explore potential investment opportunities. The visit included a meeting between⁣ SCZONE Chairperson Walid Gamal El-din and US ‌Ambassador to Cairo, ⁣Herro Mustafa Garg.

Gamal El-Din highlighted the SCZONE’s strategic ‌importance and potential⁣ for collaboration, particularly in infrastructure, energy, digital solutions, and industrial ⁣software. Ambassador‍ Garg emphasized the potential for American companies to contribute to port advancement, capacity building, and⁤ technology transfer, leading to “shared prosperity, job creation, and economic growth.”

The delegation toured the​ East Port Said area, including the Suez Canal Container Terminal (SCCT) and the $65 million “Sky” ‍multi-purpose ⁣terminal currently ⁤under construction. Companies represented in the delegation ⁢include Bechtel, Cisco Systems, Hill International,⁤ and others. ‌The visit continues with an inspection of the Sokhna port.

Both⁣ Egyptian and American officials expressed optimism that the partnership will foster sustainable development, innovation, and enhanced security and stability for both nations.
