Documentary to Track Ecological Education⁣ Initiative in Brittany’s Pays Bigouden

Ploneour-Lanvern, france – October 12, 2024 – Director Frédéric Plénard is launching⁢ a new documentary project, “Link to the Living,” aimed at fostering environmental awareness among younger generations through education in the‌ Pays ⁣Bigouden region of‌ Brittany. The initiative, developed in partnership with the Pays Bigouden en transition association, will follow approximately ten local‍ adults – including parents, teachers, and ⁤community ⁤leaders⁣ – ⁢as they undergo environmental education ⁣training with nature education teachers.

The ⁣core concept involves these adults then sharing their newfound ⁣knowledge with their children, emphasizing the crucial ⁤role⁣ of education in ecological transition. Plénard, who previously screened his film “The great secret of the link” at the 2024 Carrefour des‌ transitions, will document the entire six-month process.

“Once the ⁣training is completed, these adults will in turn pass on this same experience to ⁤their children, showing that education is therefore essential,” Plénard explained.

Participating‌ adults will share their experiences with the public ⁣through a series of ⁣evenings planned in municipalities across the region, accompanied by artists and a writer to craft narratives‌ around their journeys. Several ⁣local organizations already committed to ecological transition, such as hacks & Mops in Ploneour-Lanvern and the ⁣Garden of Happiness in Plogastel-Saint-Germain, are collaborating on the project.

A‍ presentation of “Link to the Living” is being held today, October 12, at the 4th edition of the Carrefour des ‍transitions in Ploneour-lanvern, taking ⁤place⁣ from 1:30 ⁢p.m. to 2 ⁣p.m. on stage 1⁣ of⁢ the Raphalen hall. A public evening event is⁤ also scheduled for November 17 in Pouldreuzic. Filming for the documentary ⁢is slated to begin in spring 2026.
