EBU & FIBA 3×3: Broadcast Partnership Expands Globally

FIBA Extends EBU Partnership to 2028, Boosting 3×3 Basketball Coverage Across Europe

Ulanbaatar, Mongolia & Copenhagen, Denmark – July 1, 2025 – Global basketball governing body FIBA has announced a significant extension of its partnership with the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), ensuring continued free-to-air coverage of its 3×3 basketball events across Europe through 2028. the deal, which began immediately with the recent 2025 FIBA 3×3 World Cup in Mongolia (June 23-29), encompasses major 3×3 championships including World and European Championships.

The extended agreement will see public service broadcasters in Austria (ORF), Belgium (VRT), Lithuania (LRT), the Netherlands (NOS), Poland (TVP), switzerland (SRG SSR), Turkey (TRT), and ukraine (Suspilne) broadcasting FIBA 3×3 events. This is particularly significant for nations like the Netherlands – recent women’s World Cup gold medalists – and Switzerland, who secured men’s silver. Coverage will be tailored to each territory, focusing on their respective national teams.

This renewal builds upon an initial accord established in 2023. The next event covered under the partnership will be the FIBA 3×3 Europe Cup, scheduled for September 5-7 in Copenhagen, Denmark.
