Eaton Fire Recovery: Long Term Support Group Launched

Altadena, CA – A collaborative ‍effort‍ to support long-term⁤ recovery from the devastating Eaton Fire was launched Tuesday‌ with the formation of the Eaton Fire Collaborative ⁣- Long Term Recovery Group (EFC-LTRG). the group aims to coordinate‌ resources and oversee rebuilding efforts for individuals and families ⁣impacted by⁤ the January ‌blaze.

The EFC-LTRG will serve ‍as a central hub, uniting‌ nonprofits, community organizations, faith-based groups, businesses, and government partners‍ to ensure a survivor-centered and equitable recovery ‍process.The⁣ institution’s efforts come after the ‌Eaton ‍Fire ignited on ⁢Jan. 7 near Altadena Drive and Midwick Drive, burning roughly‌ 14,021 ⁢acres over 24 ‌days during powerful Santa Ana winds. The fire resulted in the destruction of approximately ⁢9,414 structures and⁤ damage to another 1,074, with a confirmed death toll of‍ 19.

Led by Council chair Victoria Knapp, and⁤ with ​portrayal from ‍the Offices of Rep. Judy‌ Chu,D-Pasadena,and Supervisor Kathryn‍ Barger,the EFC-LTRG will focus on several‍ key​ areas: coordinating recovery services,securing‌ funding through grants and donations,overseeing ⁢rebuilding projects,delivering disaster case management,addressing unmet needs,and⁤ collaborating‍ with ⁢FEMA and other emergency management agencies.

The organization will operate out of the⁣ future Eaton ‍Fire Collaboratory, a resource center located at 540 Woodbury ⁣Road in Altadena, and ‍will host community meetings there. More‌ data is available ⁢at EatonFireCollaborative.org.
